Sancus Capital’s team of professionals has extensive global experience in investment, financing and operation of electricity generation projects from renewable energies.
Two of the founding partners of Sancus Capital founded Vector Cuatro (currently Vector Renewables) in 2007. The company, born in Spain, quickly became a world benchmark in the provision of investment services, engineering and asset management on behalf of third parties in the field of renewable energies.
Borja Escalada created the company and led it from the position of CEO of the group until its sale to the company Falck Renewables in 2014, while Jordi Vallejo was Global Head of Asset Management of the Group, leading the asset management and financing activities.
In 2013, Jaime Pérez de Laborda joined, with extensive previous experience in M&A and corporate finance, going on to lead the Group’s M&A and financing department. Since March 2021, Jaime is the President of the Mexican Solar Association (Asolmex) and is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Mexican Wind Association (AMDEE).
From Vector Cuatro, Sancus Capital partners led the investment and financing of renewable assets of more than US $ 4Bn and the Asset Management of more than 1 GW for the main international investment funds. At the time of the sale of the group in 2014, Vector Cuatro had one of the largest portfolios of assets managed for third parties in the sector (more than 1GW distributed in 7 countries).
Likewise, as relevant experience of the Sancus Capital team we highlight Balam Fund, the first Mexican green fund and a benchmark in the sector, which has a portfolio of more than 500 MW in photovoltaic solar plants and wind farms in operation in Mexico. Balam’s projects have long-term power purchase agreements with leading Mexican companies such as FEMSA, Heineken, Farmacias del Ahorro, Crown and AT&T México.
